Our names are John & Audrey Van Belle from Port Perry, Ontario. John has been a self-employed contractor for over 25 years. Audrey is a Regulated Pharmacy Technician, working in pharmacies for over 25 years as well. We have 4 fabulous sons, Jonathan & his wife Gwyn, Curtis, Andrew and Travis and 2 grandsons, Austyn & Tyler.
We were first involved in missions here at home working at Teen Challenge in London, ON back in 2000. From there, God has given us the incredible privileges of being involved with many short-term missions’ trips, beginning with Jamaica in November 2000, to many trips to Guatemala and more recently several trips to El Salvador.
Over the years our desire to serve God in missions has grown. We now sense God’s calling to do this as full-time missionaries. Most of our previous trips have included building projects, the largest one being the William Cornelius Vocational Training School (WCVTC), a 50,000 square foot school in Guatemala. When the WCVTC was ready for students, it was then that our journey took a new turn. We heard students singing praise and worship in ENGLISH! Many years of physical building had now turned to spiritual building. Relationships started to build between students, teachers, their sponsors and God. What a treat it was to be a part of that experience! God has continued to expand our experiences to include feeding programs, food distribution, from working in a medical clinic to home visits.
In July 2011, our missions journey took us to El Salvador. It was after that trip that we determined that God wanted us to move there. So after much prayer and guidance, we were approved in November 2012 to be fully appointed Global Workers with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. God wants us to transfer our skills used here in Canada to El Salvador to reach the children of El Salvador with the love of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to provide hands-on support in the way of building projects and/or medical care, thus providing practical help while reaching those who need Christ.
Thank you for your interest in missions!! If you would like more information, please feel free to email us..
